The Best Ever Pancake Recipe

June 19th, 2009

Do you have many kitchen bowls or dishes that have a heap of writing on them? A recipe perhaps? Well, I have one (and certainly saw a few more in the range when I bought this one). It’s a pancake mixing bowl – with a recipe for The Best-Ever Pancakes!

Very cool!

Although I find it hard to say that these are the “Best-Ever!”, they are certainly close. These pancakes are easy to make, lovely flavours and nice and fluffy and fantastic with maple syrup. I have made it a few times and been happy – and the recipe is always easy to find! 😉

The Best Ever Pancake Recipe
Recipe from PRIMO pancake bowl

2 cups plain flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
pinch of salt
2 eggs, beaten
1½ cups milk
1/3 cup sugar
75g butter, melted
extra butter for frying

Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Whisk in beaten eggs, milk, sugar and butter. Sizzle some extra butter in a non-stick frying pan and pour in batter to desired size. Flip when bubbles appear and cook until golden. Enjoy with lemon juice and castor sugar! (or maple syrup)

Add in some bananas and drizzle some honey and awesome breakfast!! nice clicks!

  2. That’s a really cool bowl! The pancakes look great – you’re making me hungry.

My mum’s pavalova plate has the recipe on it, which is a problem when you’ve spread out the pav and haven’t checked the baking time!

  3. I’ve seen these plates and always wondered as they all say “best ever”. Good to know that it’s good although best ever is always so subjective and individual!

  4. Tina says:

Haha – they look good! I have curvy soup bowl/mug that has a recipe for onion soup which I’ve never tried…

  5. Rudy says:

Where did you get the bowl?

Hi Everyone and thanks for all your lovely comments.

Glad everyone liked the bowl and some have other bowls/plates etc that also have recipes.

Hi Parita – Thanks, banana would be great with them

Hi Arwen – Hahahaha, I know what you mean, that’s a little silly 😛

Hi Lorraine – Yes, “best ever” is very subjective, I found that out just two days ago when people were choosing their favourite profiterole.

Hi Tina – I would be interested to see if that was a good recipe

Hi Rudy – I bought the bowl from Peters of Kensington (in Sydney). I bought it a few years ago, and Peters of Kensington still have some of the Primo “Best Ever” range on their website, although not the pancake bowl. Perhaps check with them if they are still stocking it. Hope that helps 🙂
